Just wanted to make a quick note...Shane and I celebrated our 11th anniversary on the 21st! First of all, I can't believe it's gone by so fast...we are getting old (and still in residency, will this ever end?) I'm so grateful for both the good and the hard times, the friends we have made along the way and the family who has supported us through. I'm especially thankful for the 4 children we can call our own. I love you Shane! Happy Anniversary!

Spring Break in San Antonio

Shane is doing a month long rotation in San Antonio at the Brooke Army Medical Center's burn unit. It has been both a very positive and trying learning experience for both of us. Although we are only two weeks into it, we miss him very much. Shane has shared many heartwrenching experiences that he has had while serving those who serve our country -- and have paid the ultimate price. I hope I will never forget how blessed I am because of the sacrifices of so many.
This weekend we drove down to see him and enjoyed going to Sea World and visiting the Alamo for the first time. It was great to learn about Texas history and the heroic story of the Alamo. It reminded me that although we can try to win every battle, we grow and learn the most from the ones we lose.

Isaac turns Four!!!
Isaac had a little pirate birthday party with a few of his friends on Saturday. We all had a great time walking the plank, searching for treasure, and breaking open the pinata. After Isaac blew out his candles his brother's told him he forgot to make a wish. To that, he immediately said, "Yes I did, I wished for Super Powers!"

Spring Snow in Texas!
What a weekend! On Friday morning before school the boys woke up and saw a dusting of snow on the ground. They were so excited they immediately got dressed to go out in the snow at 6:45 a.m. They stayed outside until they realized there wasn't enough snow to make a snow ball with, and decided it was way too cold. This Texas weather has turned us all into weather wimps! Of course we celebrated the occassion with some hot chocolate.
